Open the Import/Export Wizard (import mode) and select source file (Figure 1) [1].

You can’t type the “Tab” symbol in the “Import Template” edit-box but you can load template from text file.

Open any text editor (e.g. Notepad) and type template with the “Tab” separator. For example “<Title> <Artist> <Album>“.

Load template from the file in Import/Export Wizard [2] and change it if necessary [3] (e.g. remove a last symbol).

Click the “Next >” button and import tags to audio files.

The Mp3 Tag Assistant Professional can work with “Actions” in Batch work mode.

The Actions is sets of operations with audio files which you can define in advance and use for various albums.

Mp3 Tag Assistant Professional support these Actions:

• Tag operations: addition, removal or change of the tags.
• Lyrics and comments operations: addition, removal or change of the lyrics/comments.
• File operations: copying or moving of the files, changing of the file attributes, filename generation and others.
• Playlist operations: creation of the M3U or PLS playlists.
• Filelist operations: creation of the TXT, CSV or XML filelists.

You can combine Actions and create the sets of actions  (figure 1).

You can open “Actions set editor” from main menu (the “Options > Actions Set Settings” menu items) or use Ctrl+F6 keyboard shortcut.

The Actions or actions sets can be added to “Actions” tab of Side panel (figure 2) (in Batch mode only!).

You can use the “Actions Set” main toolbar button or the “Add Action” button (figure 2) for it.

After addition of Actions you should add the audio files and execute Actions.

Press F7 keyboard shortcut for execute.

Process of performance of Actions will be shown in special dialog (figure 3).

You can click the “Show log” button for show detailed information.

The Mp3 Tag Assistant interface in Standard work mode consists of these parts (figure 1):
• Main menu [1].
• Main toolbar [2].
• Side panel [3]. You can select folders or audio files and add them in “Selection list” for change of tags or files.
• Selection list [4]. The files in this list will be changed in the program.
• Work panel [6]. You can type the new tag values or filenames in the panel.

Step-by-step instruction

1. Side panel

You should add audio files from Side panel to Selection list for change of tags or files.

Please pay attention to the tab in the bottom of the panel (figure 2). You can use these variants of addition of files to the “Selection list“:

• Folders. You can add the audio files from one or some folders.

How can I add the some audio albums for edit tags?

• Files. You can select a folder, click the “Files” tab and add one or more audio files.
• Favorites. You can add the audio files from your favorite folders.

2. Selection list

You should change list of audio files.

You can use Tag filters (figure 1, [5]), column sort or manual sorting mode for it. You can remove the some files from Selection list.

Keyboard shortcut is Delete.

3. Work panel

You should select the necessary tab in the Work panel (figure 1, [7]) and type new tag values or other parameters.

Click the “Save” or “Generate” button in Work panel toolbar (figure 1, [8]) for save changes.

You can click the “More edit…” button for open menu with advanced features.

You can add the some audio albums to Selection list and change tags, create playlist or rename files in these albums.

It simply to make if each album is in a separate folder.

You should check the some folder in Side panel (figure 1)  and click the “Add all files to Selection list” button [1].

If you have folder with the subfolders (one audio album = one folder) you should select the parent folder (figure 2), open submenu for “Add all files to Selection list“ and click the “Add with subfolders” menu item.

Mp3 Tag Assistant Professional can work in two modes:

• Standard mode.
• Batch mode.

You can change work mode from the main toolbar (the “Batch Mode” or “Standard Mode” buttons) or use F12 keyboard shortcut.

The Import/Export Wizard can work with searching audio files in source file. You should use the <Filename> template variable for it.

For example, you have the some audio files without tags (figure 1) and the source CSV file with tag values (figure 2).

Please type on the secont page of wizard the following information:

• Source CSV filename with full path. [1]
• Choose the “Ignore the first line…” option. [2] Check this check box if you don’t want import caption to audio file.
• Type template. [3] The template is special string, which consists from variables and dividers. Please note that template must contain the <Filename> template variable.
• Choose the <Filename> template variable options. [4] Now, please choose the third variant: “Use the filename…“.

Press the “Next >” button. The next wizard page will be open (figure 4).

You should add one or more files on the third page of wizard (use the toolbar buttons) and press the “Next >” button. The next wizard page will be open (figure 5).

Prevew result.

Please note that the two audio files have the new audio tags only: “Track 04.mp3” and “Track 03.mp3“!

The Mp3 Tag Assistant Professional has found these filenames in the list of files (figure 1) and has written the new tags in their. The other filenames from a source file (figure 2) have not been found.

Click the “Save” button.
